Filmora | Web and Graphic Design

Project Introduction

Wondershare Filmora is a video editing software with a global community of creators who use it every day. As a tool, it is designed to be simple enough to appeal to younger audiences, while boasting pro-level features for videographers of all skill levels. The brand and its marketing materials are communicated in this same manner, showing youthful energy, colour and language.

Website UX/UI

One of my roles was to design the UX and UI of the Filmora homepage. In talks with the Marketing team, it was clear that communicating the product value clearly was a principal goal for this page, as was highlighting the community and showcasing the suite of Filmora products. Working off of this, I blocked out different sections that could home in on each of these requirements. For the hero banner, images were selected from the brand video, which I edited for effect and composition. Using images from the brand video was a conscious choice, to align the messaging across touchpoints. Next, new product features were shown in motion through a carousel. Third we wanted to emphasize the community of users by displaying appreciative social posts made across the globe. We wanted every section to feel unique, to give the user an action and to convey the simplicity, structure and creativity that is possible when using the software.

Press Overview Kit

As someone who understands the Filmora brand well, I was given the role of designing the Press Overview Kit. This is a high-level document outlining Filmora and its features, which is delivered to members of the Press who are looking to write a story or a review about Filmora. It’s sensitive because its a reflection of the brand, and how it conveys itself to the critical public. Working with a grid is always my first step, and as this relates to the Filmora website homepage, I was careful to maintain visual consistency in communications - using the same components wherever possible.
