Vancouver Mural Festival 2020 | Motion & Graphic Design
Project Introduction
In 2020, Wondershare Technology Inc was looking to make a local impact in the Vancouver arts community. They did so by generously sponsoring mural partnerships through the Vancouver Mural Festival organization. This investment by Wondershare gave 5 local artists an opportunity to bring their artistic visions to life on the streets of Vancouver. Each artist was given a spotlight video on Wondershare platforms and editorial photographs of their murals were submitted and shared through the local Vancouver Press.
Motion & Graphic Design
With each artist receiving a spotlight for their work, my role involved helping design motion layouts for the artwork titles, artist names and sponsorship details, as well as a motion logo for Wondershare that related to the festival. Working in collaboration with the director, I designed bold titles that can stand out and yet not steal the show from the colourful artworks on display. The motion logo I designed is a colourful variant of the Wondershare logo, being painted in as if it were a stencil. The idea was to keep the Wondershare logo recognizable, yet add a playful, emotive twist.
Editorial Photography
Another role of mine was to photograph the completed artworks for use in local publications. I shot each of the murals digitally in wide-angle, editing for colour-grading, levels, etc. These photos were then promoted in articles on the web.
